ABOUT ANGELLA

I'm Angella Wagner, teacher and founder of The Pilates House. I've been a huge fan of Pilates for years and have been practising Pilates for over 25 years and still find exercises to challenge my body and brain! I first studied Pilates with Maria Larsen in Portugal who really inspired me. When I moved back to England, I decided to train to become a Pilates teacher and qualified with Body Control Pilates in 2010.

I trained in London with the top teachers of Pilates - including Miranda Bass, Lynne Robinson and Sarah Marks. I am fully trained to teach on the mat, reformer, tower and springboard. I have the latest Balanced Body Allegro 2 reformers which will challenge and support you with weights and enhance your exercises on the mat. The reformer and springboard work perfectly complements the classical work on the mat. I am a Level 4 Lower Back Pain specialist and a Back Care Professional. After working as a supervising teacher for Body Control Pilates for over 12 years, The Pilates House is now an Active IQ education centre, where I offer Level 3 Pilates Matwork and reformer training for new Pilates teachers.

PAIN SPECIALIST

I am especially interested in helping people with lower back pain. I have seen the benefits of Pilates and how it strengthens clients' backs and helps them to manage their own back pain.

BCP TEACHING

The UK is the first country in the world to have a national standard governing the teaching of Pilates matwork. It is endorsed by SkillsActive and the Register of Exercise Professionals and is recognised by the European Health and Fitness Association. All teachers who graduate from this matwork certification course are automatically recognised as meeting the national standard - Level 3 Pilates teacher. Body Control Pilates is widely seen as a benchmark for safe and effective teaching of the highest quality. It is Europe's largest professional Pilates organisation, with teachers who are constantly training and learning. I have to earn a certain number of development points each year to maintain my membership with BCP so you can be assured that I will be constantly building on my Pilates skills and learning the latest exercises!
